VIDEO SERIES. 1 of 3. Here to Support: making undocumented people more visible, audible and resilient in society

Undocumented migrants face exclusion and exploitation in the European job market. Civil society and migrants-led local initiatives can offer alternative pathways to dignity. The DignityFIRM project showcases inspiring cases across Europe: in Amsterdam, Here to Support provides undocumented migrants with a space for solidarity, recognition, and a shared voice.

Here to Support is an Amsterdam-based NGO founded in 2013. Here to support facilitates collaboration between refugees in limbo, undocumented migrants, self-organised refugee collectives and cultural producers, writers, artists, theorists, journalists and academics. They facilitate the creation of cultural projects, promote empowerment, and make media. As such Here to Support has been participating in the DignityFIRM  research. Here to Support is a firm believer in the power of connections. Connections influence our perception of the world, connections create capacity for action. Besides their work with DignityFIRM, empowering migrant workers, we flag another empowering initiative: https://www.jouwstemmijnstem.nl/ (your vote, my vote), giving undocumented migrants a voice in elections in which they have no vote, yet the outcome is highly relevant for their lives.
