16 Dec JOINT WEBINAR – The condition of migrant workers in Europe’s food supply chain industries. A public health perspective
European food supply chain industries – such as agriculture, meat processing, delivery, and hospitality – rely on migrant and seasonal labour. Yet, they frequently expose migrant and seasonal workers to precarious employment and hazardous working conditions, leading to significant health inequities. Research consistently shows high rates of work-related injuries, illnesses, and disabilities among migrant workers.
This webinar examines the conditions of migrant workers in EU food industries from a public health perspective and addresses questions such as:
– How do occupational health inequities for migrant workers persist in some sectors, despite legal obligations to ensure equitable protections?
– What good practices exist for strengthening migrant worker rights and protections along European food supply chains?
