Protect migrant workers, raise standards for all: strengthening enforcement in Farm-to-Fork sectors

There is a growing mismatch between economic realities, labour market needs and migration policies in the agri-food sectors. While many of these sectors typically rely on foreign workers, restrictive policies create barriers to their employment, fuelling informal labour practices and heightening the risk of exploitation. Significant gaps persist between EU legislation and policies on paper, including those protecting migrant workers, and their effective implementation in practice.
